South Carolina CE: New Construction vs. Resale Home Inspections

Are all inspections created equal? This is helpful for agents so they may educate their clients that choose to have a home inspected during the construction process. It’s important for buyers to know that a resale inspection is a performance based, visual audit and a new construction inspection does not provide the benefit of time. This may also help set expectations for the buyer that expects there to be reports on code violations in a resale inspection or to have cosmetic issues addressed in a new construction inspection. A more informed buyer makes the real estate transaction and the entire experience more enjoyable and the more information they have, the less chance of there being uncertainties in the transaction process.
